Molly The Mobile Library

Going to the library is one of our favourite childhood memories and believe it or not, many people, even adults, still enjoy going to the library occasionally. The library has full of knowledge thanks to its wide range of books, magazines, audio CDs, computers all for just one cheap membership fee. Now, Singapore's National Library Board (NLB), the main statutory board that takes care of public libraries has got a new trick up its sleeve to entice more people to go the library and it's called Molly The Mobile Library. In this article, let me tell you more about Molly and let me give you a virtual tour of the bus itself.

Nostalgia at Queenstown Library and Queenstown Bowl

There are a lot of places around Singapore that hold lots of memories for Singaporeans. These places hold their childhood memories, memories of them having a great time and memories with their familes. As Singapore starts to grow in a rapid pace, more and more old places are starting to disappear. Thankfully, there are certain old places in Singapore that are still in existence right now so it's still not too late to check them out. However, we may never know if these buildings will still be available in the next few decades so we must try to appreciate these kind of places as much as we can right now. In this article, I will be talking about my trip to one of the oldest estates in Singapore, Queenstown. Awesome Town Centres Part 1: Ang Mo Kio Town Centre

If you don't know, majority of Singaporeans live in HDB flats which are also known as public apartments. HDB flats (Housing Development Board) are the government's solution to affordable housing and it's also the solution to old villages AKA Kampungs. In today's article, I'll be talking to you about my visit to a town centre in a HDB estate. A town centre is a central place where shops and restaurants are located at the void deck of low rise HDB flats. Most old HDB estates have town centres and when I mean old HDB estates, I meant flats that don't have lift access to every floor (Yes there are such things). Many activities are held here, many affordable goods can be found here and many food establishments can also be found here at the town centre. In this Awesome Town Cendres series, I'll be taking you on a tour of Ang Mo Kio Town Centre in the heart of Ang Mo Kio housing estate. The other town centres will be featured in a later date.

A Tour of Singapore's National Library Building

Everyone knows that the library is full of great educational content and useful resources. Singapore's National Library is no exception. The National Library is also the tallest library in Singapore with a wide range of reading materials especially reference materials. The National Library has different libraries in the building which includes the Central Lending Library and the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library. An arts venue known as the Drama Centre is also present in the Library's building along with several exhibitions and galleries. Let us get a closer look of the National Library Building.
