Celebrate December 2013 at the Esplanade

December is commonly known as the last month of the year. It's also the month where a lot of people will be preparing for the year end festivities like Christmas and the month where everyone will be scrambling to write down New Year goals and prepare for the New Year. Since a lot of public places in Singapore commemorate the December year end festivities with various events, I have decided to check out one of the events to celebrate the year end as well. I went to the Esplanade Theatres the day after Christmas and checked out this event called Celebrate December. Want to know what it's all about? Scroll down below or click Read More.

Frenzeelo TV - Episodes in 2013

Back in 2013, I have produced several episodes of Frenzeelo TV which is a web show where I go around places in Singapore and checking out local events like Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park and the Halal Food Expo. What I have done was that even though I have uploaded new episodes to my YouTube channel, I did not post the latest episodes right here on the Frenzeelo blog which is kind of ironic since this is the official blog and I'm supposed to show you all the episodes here before going to my YouTube channel. What I shall do now is that I will be showing you all the episodes of Frenzeelo TV in 2013 after the Halal Food Expo episode to let you know that Frenzeelo TV is still alive and kicking. Here are some of the episodes that I have uploaded in 2013 so far.

Punggol Beach AKA Punggol Point Park

Previously, I have written two articles related to the Punggol Promenade. There was this article that I wrote about the Punggol Waterway, a manmade waterway located in the heart of Punggol East and another about the Punggol Promenade Riverside Walk located near Popeyes Chicken and near the Lorong Halus Wetland. Now, I will be talking about Punggol Point Park also known as Punggol Beach which has recently undergone renovations and has been turned into a lifestyle park. Find out more about this park by clicking Read More or scroll down.

Orchard Road Christmas Light Up 2013

On every November and December of the year, shopping malls in Singapore will usher in the Christmas and New Year holidays. Everywhere in Singapore, you will find Christmas trees, Christmas decorations, Christmas hats and of course, Christmas lights. At Orchard Road, one of Singapore's most famous shopping districts, the annual Orchard Road Christmas Light Up was held once again from the stretch between ION Orchard all the way to The Cathay, beautifying the roads and spreading the festive cheer. By the time you come across this article, the light up will probably be over but not to worry as I'll be showing you all the things that you might have missed during the recent annual Orchard Road Christmas Light Up 2013.

Happy 2nd Birthday Frenzeelo!

I hope you enjoyed the first week of the new year in January and I hope you enjoyed the holidays in December! Today, on the 8th of January 2014, is the 2nd birthday of Frenzeelo. That's right, Frenzeelo is in its second year and it's getting better and better each year. Two years ago, on the 8th of January 2012, I started Frenzeelo with the aim of sharing my personal outings around Singapore with the photos taken with my smartphone and digital camera. Every month, I will be writing some posts about the places that I have visited or maybe fun public events that I have attended.

Not only that, I also made use of video and made videos showing my experiences of different places around Singapore with my video series, Frenzeelo TV. Thank you very much for your support for the past 2 years and I hope that I still get to write a birthday message for Frenzeelo in 2015 and the next coming years. Till then, keep enjoying my fresh and new content! More stuff will be coming soon and a complete redesign of Frenzeelo will come soon as well.

Frenzeelo 2013: Year In Review

It's the end of the year again! It's the day where everyone will be cheering for the New Year, singing the classic Auld Lang Syne and counting down from 10 to 1. Of course I am talking about New Year's Eve and the New Year. As the year comes to close and 2014 is approaching us faster than ever, it's time for us to look back at what had happened in the year 2013 for Frenzeelo. It may not be as big and happening as last year, but there are still plenty of great things that had happened in Frenzeelo this year. Let me tell you what they are right here in the very last Frenzeelo article for 2013.

50 Years of Television - The Exhibition

If you live in Singapore, I'm pretty sure you have watched free-to-air channels on TV like Channel 5, Channel 8, Suria and much much more, right? Well did you know that TV started in Singapore in 1963 on the month of February? Before Mediacorp (the provider for all the local free-to-air channels) started, the company was known as Singapore Broadcasting Company or SBC for short. In 2013, Mediacorp celebrates 50 years of television and to commemorate this special occasion, an exhibition was held at the National Museum that talks about the history of television in Singapore. Let me give you a small virtual tour of the exhibition in case you have missed it.

Downtown Line Stage 1 Open House 2013

Another year, another MRT line will be opened for business. Last year, I went for the open house for the new Circle Line Extension which consists of 2 MRT stations, Bayfront and Marina Bay which bring you to places like the Marina Bay Sands and Gardens By The Bay. This year on the 7th of December, I went to the open house for the new Downtown Line Stage 1 which consists of 6 stations around the city area. Now, going to places like Far East Square and the Marina Bay Link Mall will be much easier. Let's take a look at what all the open house buzz was all about.

Molly The Mobile Library

Going to the library is one of our favourite childhood memories and believe it or not, many people, even adults, still enjoy going to the library occasionally. The library has full of knowledge thanks to its wide range of books, magazines, audio CDs, computers all for just one cheap membership fee. Now, Singapore's National Library Board (NLB), the main statutory board that takes care of public libraries has got a new trick up its sleeve to entice more people to go the library and it's called Molly The Mobile Library. In this article, let me tell you more about Molly and let me give you a virtual tour of the bus itself.

A Historical Walk Along Fort Canning Park

Back in the olden days, Fort Canning was known as Bukit Larangan which is Malay for Forbidden Hill. It has been said that Sir Stamford Raffles used to live here in the 1800s and that Fort Canning was also the place where British governers used to stay. Military equipment also used to be stored here and an army bunker was located right here at the Forbidden Hill. Fast forward to today, Fort Canning is no longer forbidden and it has been turned into a public park known as Fort Canning Park for everyone to enjoy. The park is loaded with history and interesting facts for history buffs and for anyone who's interested in Singapore's history. Now, let me give you a virtual tour of this great public park so read on.
