When it comes to observation decks, the first thing that comes to mind is the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark. However, you need to pay to get access and if it rains, better luck next time. Now, there’s an alternative. It’s air-conditioned, it’s located in the Orchard Road shopping district and it’s free. This is the second time Singapore is one of the host countries for YTFF and I got to see various big name YouTube stars on stage. Christmas and New Year in the Singapore City
December is a great time mainly because of two major festive events. There's Christmas on the 25th of December and New Year on 1st of January (fun starts on the 31st of December). December can also be considered the best month of the year simply because of the wide range of Christmas trees, decorations, events, open houses and New Year's preparations. On the last two weeks of December, I decided to roam Singapore's city to check out all the wonderful festivities that don't cost a lot of money. Here's what I found.

A Historical Walk Along Fort Canning Park
Back in the olden days, Fort Canning was known as Bukit Larangan which is Malay for Forbidden Hill. It has been said that Sir Stamford Raffles used to live here in the 1800s and that Fort Canning was also the place where British governers used to stay. Military equipment also used to be stored here and an army bunker was located right here at the Forbidden Hill. Fast forward to today, Fort Canning is no longer forbidden and it has been turned into a public park known as Fort Canning Park for everyone to enjoy. The park is loaded with history and interesting facts for history buffs and for anyone who's interested in Singapore's history. Now, let me give you a virtual tour of this great public park so read on.

Seoul Garden @ Ngee Ann City
As of this writing, it's already the beginning of February. Oh time flies extremely fast. It was just a month ago when I celebrated the New Year's countdown with my family. Anyway, since it's a new month, that means a new set of blog posts will be available on Frenzeelo. The first article for this month is about Seoul Garden, a Halal buffet restaurant that sells a wide variety of Korean cuisine along with sushi and marinated meats. This is the second buffet restaurant that I have visited that requires me to cook the food myself. The outlet that I am going to talk about will be the one located at Ngee Ann City, a shopping mall right in the heart of Orchard Road. If you don't live near Orchard Road, there are plenty of Seoul Garden outlets located in the heartlands of Singapore. Scroll down to read more about my experience at Seoul Garden Ngee Ann City.

Farewell Carrefour Part 1: Plaza Singapura Outlet
Remember Carrefour? Carrefour was the French hypermarket which first made its debut at Suntec City Mall in the year 1997 and they opened a second outlet at Plaza Singapura in 2003. Carrefour Singapore made an announcement in August 2012 that the two stores were going to close down due to high costs of rent and loss of profits. After the popularity of competitor hypermarkets, upmarket supermarkets and smaller scale neighbourhood supermarkets, it's no wonder Carrefour was struggling. In this article, I will be giving you a tour of what Carrefour looked like before its official closure. Today's article will be about the outlet found at Plaza Singapura. The article on the Carrefour outlet at Suntec City Mall will be coming in a few days time.

Well, in late August, I went to the Night Festival at the Bras Basah Bugis area to check out all the various artworks and light installations available. The Night Festival is a yearly festival related to arts and multimedia and a huge array of performances, installations and events were held at night on the 24th to the 25th of August. It also happened on 31st August and the 1st of September. It's a free event and there's something for everyone. During the Night Festival, selected museums were opened till 2am like the National Museum and the Singapore Art Museum.

Wonderful Greenery at the Singapore Botanic Gardens
At the end of June 2012, a botanic gardens will open for the public at the Marina South area called Gardens By The Bay. It's Singapore's second botanic gardens and will feature lots of great new features such as the Cloud Forest, Flower Dome and the SuperTree Grove. However, we must not forget about Singapore's first botanic gardens which is the Singapore Botanic Gardens located at the Bukit Timah area. The Singapore Botanic Gardens has already existed long ago since the year 1822. It's a very old garden but the Botanic Gardens still manage to attract lots of people. A lot of great plantations, trees and other features such as the National Orchid Garden, Bandstand, Swan Lake and so much more can be found at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Scroll down further to check out my visit to the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
